Welcome to the Church of Norway in Tynset Deanery!

There are many people living in Tynset kommune who do not have Norwegian as their first language but who nevertheless need some information on arranging baptisms, weddings or funerals, or who need to talk to someone in the church’s office.

Similarly, statistics show that a good forty percent of visitors come from the United States of America, who are presumably tracing their roots, or have an interest in this area of Norway and its ancient buildings. In either case, these pages are designed to help you navigate your way through what can be a confusing language.

Use the links (left) to find what you need. If there is anything that is not here, we will gladly hear from you. And do not hesitate to contact the church office if you need further information… most staff will be happy to practise their English on you!

Please note that some of the pages you are directed to are in Norwegian, when it is best use backspace or “Back” button on your browser’s toolbar.
